From the misty mountains of San Pedro El Alto in Oaxaca emerges this beautiful Mexican coffee. Finca La Primavera thrives as a true representation of coffee heritage and Praxedez Lopez and his wife, Luciana Cruz, are the gatekeepers of this farm.
Praxedez' journey into coffee began early in life, working closely with his parents who imparted their wisdom and expertise in the field. Their guidance and love inspired him to continue his family legacy with passion and dedication.
He’s been intensely involved with coffee for the past decade and joined Caravela's production ranks three years ago.
Praxedez harvests selectively and performs dry fermentation for an average of 36 hours, followed by careful drying on concrete patios for over 6 days to produce exceptional coffees. He grows only Typica varieties which he is enormously proud of, due to its quality profile and the recognition it has earned him.
His ultimate goal is to see higher productivity and even better quality, combined with gradual plantation renewal. Although Praxedez’s main source of income is coffee, he also works with neighbours and tackles other agricultural jobs to increase his income.
In the cup you'll find silky milk chocolate and bold peach notes.
The Orange-breasted Bunting, a vibrant bird species found in Oaxaca, Mexico, plays a significant role in the region's ecosystem and cultural heritage. As a seed disperser, it helps maintain plant diversity and ecosystem health. Its presence also supports ecotourism, attracting birdwatchers and nature enthusiasts to Oaxaca's diverse landscapes.
