High up in the western region of Ethiopia lies the Gure Kesso village. In the Jimma zone of this region you will find Telila, a privately owed washing station in Gure Kesso run by Mike Mamo. Despite only being in its 5th year of operation, Mike has made quite a name for his farm in the speciality coffee world, and he has his resourceful and dedicated team to thank for this achievement.

Smallholder producers from around the region deliver parchment to the Telila washing station each day during harvest. On arrival, each lot goes through a systemized quality analysis process which determines where each coffee will end up - separating individually for higher quality coffees, or blended into larger lots. The team works tirelessly during this time to ensure each lot is categorised appropriately, allowing for some truly special and unique lots to come out of Gure Kesso.

In true Ethiopian fashion, expect to find big aromas and stone fruits in the cup, reminiscent of honeysuckle and yellow peach.
