Roman Cruz has been farming coffee since 2001. He produces a Typica variety on his farm which is perched high up in the hills of San Pedro El Alto, Oaxaca.

It was only in 2018 that Roman Cruz began to make a sustainable living from his work as a coffee farmer. With the help of Caravela - our export partners - Roman was able to work with leading agronomists to improve the health of the farm, as well as the drying and sorting of cherries to improve cup quality and longevity.

Regions of Mexico such as Oaxaca and Chiapas are home to some of the most interesting coffees you will find. When it comes to cup quality, this coffee is rich and comforting with notes of brown sugar and marmalade.
