Specialty coffee isn’t just any coffee. It’s coffee beans that are carefully selected from the best farms worldwide, with every bean reflecting unique flavours from its origin. By focusing on quality and flavour, Mecca Coffee sources beans that meet the highest standards, giving you a memorable coffee experience in every sip. We choose high quality single origin / single lots / producer lots —our preferred term—beans sourced from one specific location, such as a single farm, region, or country, offering unique flavours specific to its place of origin. 

We currently work with producers in Brazil, Colombia, Ethiopia, Honduras, Mexico, Guatemala, Rwanda, Kenya and Papua New Guinea. A few of our favourite varietals to work with are Typica, Caturra and Bourbon. We buy specialty coffee beans that put a spotlight on each region and varietal, while recognising the importance of personality in the terroir. 

In our opinion, the highest priority is to get the sourcing right, from there the roasting and brewing is relatively straightforward. We credit the husbandry of growing, sorting and processing at origin by our producers with the majority of the success of our finished product.

Decaf coffee isn’t just for evenings! It’s perfect for anyone who wants the rich taste of coffee without the caffeine. Our decaf coffee beans are naturally decaffeinated to retain the bean’s unique flavours while removing the caffeine, so you can enjoy your coffee any time of day.

Decaf Rainbow is our selected decaf option from Caldas, Colombia. These beans are from a group of farmers from the region and uses a natural decaffeination process called Ethyl Actetate. A distillation process extracted from sugar cane, fruits and vegetables from the area then the beans are washed by water coming from a natural spring in the region.

Decaffeinated coffee can be brewed as espresso, filter, batch or aeropress depending on your preference. At Mecca Coffee, we believe everyone deserves the option of exceptional coffee, whether caffeinated or not.
